Steps & Risers & Treads in Australia

Step & risers are preformed reinforced concrete step treads and the rise is the standard from one step to the next. These can be used to build a set of steps very quickly, saving significant time compared to using formwork and casting in situ.

Treads. The part of the stairway that is stepped on. It is constructed to the same specifications (thickness) as any other flooring. The tread “depth” is measured from the outer edge of the step to the vertical “riser” between steps.
